Start using Intelligent UI
Start in ChatGPT’s Chat tab with a concrete task. Describe what you want to explore and what you would like to change. You do not need to write code to ask for an interactive answer.
Check where you are
Use Chat. Work and Voice do not support Intelligent UI. OpenAI’s help article also lists the Pro reasoning option powered by GPT-6 Astra as unsupported; Instant through Extra High settings support it.
Understand the rollout
The October 7, 2026 announcement describes rollout to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise, expanding to Free and Go the next day. Enterprise access depends on admin settings. This does not promise immediate access for every account.
Start with a bounded task
Choose a task with a clear input and visible result. For a study session, give a topic, your current level, and 45 minutes. Ask to change the duration and see all stages update. Use our library to find an original starting prompt; none has yet been tested in ChatGPT.
Revise what you receive
Try one input change. Check the totals and explanation. If the interface is too busy, ask to keep the essential controls. If it missed a constraint, name that constraint. A text answer can still be appropriate for some questions.
Keep a record
Note the date, plan, reasoning option, prompt, and control you tried. Record what worked, what failed, and any assumptions. Do not publish private conversation content. This makes your result easier to reproduce than a screenshot alone.
